I'm Not Crying For You
Author: Teresa Emory

You once told me that you never wanted anyone to cry over you,
There are many reasons why I'm crying,
But don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.

I cry for the children who no longer have their father,
I cry for the woman who no longer has a husband,
But don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.

I cry for the sisters who no longer have a brother,
I cry for the parents who no longer have a son,
But don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.

I cry for nieces and nephews who no longer have an uncle,
I cry for the people who no longer have their friend,
But don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.

I cry for the future and things you won't be a part of,
Like holidays and family dinners,
And one day a wedding and grandchildren,
But don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.

And I cry for me, for I no longer have you,
I no longer have my buddy,
But don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.

Although I may be sad I will not cry for you,
For I know that you had made your peace,
And when He called for you, you went,
And are now where you now belong,
So don't worry Joe, I'm not crying for you.
