Fate

It's amazing, isn't it?
That first night that I met you,
I saw you, and you saw me,
But weren't sure what to do.
We danced and talked and you held me tight,
A night I will remember forever.
And it's so ironic, the way it seems,
That fate is what brought us together.
We sat and talked all night long,
In front of the blazing fire.
As I got to know you, I loved the feeling
Of friendship and a little desire.
Maybe perhaps I'm hoping to hard,
And that's something I really do hate,
But with as much as you mean, and how beautiful you are,
I have to owe it all to fate.
